In any software Project is made of many individual files. It is a good idea to save the files in some logical locations with logical and consistent names. A good directory structure makes it easier to transfer files to and from configuration management tools and simplifies the maintenance.
When directory structure is well organized initially, directories and filenames are less likely to change down the line project implementation. Test Managers benefit from an organized structure when it comes time to determine ownership of files and clean up directories in order to keep the current files. New managers can easily learn the structure with less difficulty. Consistent structure and well-named files help testing engineers when performing maintenance.
Here attached file contains basic folder structure for small scale projects. In the next phase, will update detailed folder structure for medium scale and large scale project.
